TAOP - Positioning a point.

Outline: Take three photographs in which there is a single point, placed in different positions in the frame.

Central position

With a central position the image is very static. The picture has no depth and therefore looks very flat. It doesn't make the point stand out very well and for me, this positioning doesn't work.

Off centre position

This positioning works better. The point slightly off centre gives the image more depth but the point works well as it is slightly large in relation to the frame and holds your attention.

Near edge position
I prefer this positioning. With the point smaller than in the previous picture and closer to the edge my attention is drawn directly to the point. The point works very well in relation to the frame and the background.

Dividing the frame :

Conclusion:
You can use the frame to highlight your focal point. Where you place your point inside the frame can alter the amount of focus given to the point.
