TAOP - Implied Lines.

Outline: Find and sketch the implied lines of the given photographs. Then find any three photographs of your own and perform the same analysis. Finally, plan and take two photographs that use an eye- line implied line and also the extension of a line, or lines that point implied line.

The first image I think shows an extension of a line implied line. My eye follows the line on the floor to draw my attention to the back of the matador and the bull.

The second image draws my attention to the horses with an eye-line implied line from the direction the man is looking.

This image has two implied lines. The first is the from the dog to it's owner, following it's eye line. But I also get an extension of a visible movement implied line, following the direction that they are walking.

Again, this photo has an eye-line implied line, following the gaze of the on lookers to the rider.

This image of my little girl playing on the beach shows an eye-line implied line. My attention is drawn to the bucket as she is looking inside it.

I think this photograph shows an extension of visible movement implied line with the way the child is walking, but also an extension of a line implied line, due to the line being painted on the floor. The diagonal lines in the image also add to this.

Part three of this exercise is to plan and take two photographs that use the two different kind of implied lines: an eye-line and the extension of a line.

Conclusion:
This is a perfect way to draw further attention to a subject in a subtle way. Bringing the viewers eye to exactly what you want them to see.
